Voting ends, counting begins

Staff Correspondent: The voting of the much-hyped 11th national election ended on Sunday.
The voting began at 8:00am and continued till 4:00pm.
About 30 candidates have boycotted the election so far citing alleged vote rigging and ballot stuffing.
Earlier, a good number voters were seen to move the polling centers in the morning. Later, the numbers of voters increased gradually.
The voting took place in 299 constituencies. However, Voting in Gaibandha-3 (Palashbari-Sadullapur) constituency has been postponed due to the death of Jatiya Oikya Front Candidate Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi.
In compliance with new electoral rules, a total of 39 registered political parties contested the polls.
