Mashrafe wins election by landslide

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh ODI cricket captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was elected unofficially by a huge margin from Narail-2 constituency in the 11th parliamentary elections held on Sunday (December 30).
Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed announced the unofficial results of the constituency on Sunday night.
As a ruling Awami League candidate, Mashrafe bagged 271,210 votes with ‘boat’ symbol while his nearest contestant Fariduzzaman Farhad secured 7,883 votes with the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol.
