Sheikh Hasina to take oath as PM for fourth time

Staff Correspondent: Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will take oath of office as Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the fourth time.

Following the victory in 11th national parliamentary elections, she is going to set a record fourth term in office with her Awami League.

Earlier on Sunday (December 30), Bangladesh voted for 299 seats in the 11th national parliamentary elections. The Election Commission has already announced the polls results of 298 seats out of 299. 

In the polls, Bangladesh Awami League won 259 seats while Jatiya Party got 20 seats. Besides, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won five seats while Workers Party got three and JSD, Gano Forum and Bikapa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) won two seats.

Awami League insiders said that Sheikh Hasina would take the oath within one week. The process will be started after the gazette notification from Election Commission.
