HC for disposing of all criminal cases pending for 10 yrs

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) directed all the district and sessions judge courts to dispose of all the criminal cases pending for over ten years.

At the same time, trial courts have been asked to dispose of all the criminal cases within six months.

The HC bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the order on Tuesday while hearing a bail petition in a criminal case filed in 2007.

The court also directed to submit the list of those cases to the Supreme Court registrar general within 30 days.

Lawyer ATM Mizanur Rahman moved for the accused in the case while Deputy Attorney General Farhad Ahmed and Assistant Attorney General Yusuf Mahbub Morshed stood for the state
