Tasvirul, Faruque placed on 7-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Sunday placed SMHI Faruque, the land owner of FR Tower in Banani, and Tasvirul Islam, one of the owners of the high-rise building, on a seven-day remand each in a case filed over the March 28 fire incident.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after Md Jalaluddin, inspector of Detective Branch of police and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking ten-day remand each.

Detective police arrested SMHI Faruque and Tasvirul on Saturday midnight.

Mentionable, at least 26 people were killed and many others injured in the inferno that broke out in the high-rise building on Thursday.
