Wahed Mansion owner’s two sons sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent two sons of the owner of Wahed Mansion, from where the devastating Chawkbazar fire ensued killing 71 people on the night of February 20, to jail as they surrendered before it.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Qaisarul Islam on Tuesday sent Md Hasan and his brother Md Sohel alias Shahid to jail after scraping their bail plea.
 
The siblings surrendered through their lawyer and pleaded for fresh bails as the tenure of their three weeks-bail granted by the High Court ended.

The state however, opposed their plea. After hearing both the sides, the court rejected the bail plea and sent them to jail.
