HC issues rule to implement Road Transport Act

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) issued a rule asking the authority concerned to make the Road Transport Act 2018 effective.

The bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order on Sunday.

It also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why failing to issue gazette notification on the matter should not be declared illegal.

The court asked cabinet secretary, secretaries of the President, Prime Minister, secretary of the legislative department of the ministry of law, parliamentary affairs secretary, secretary of road transport and highways division, and secretary of the home ministry to reply the rule within next two weeks.

Advocate Manzill Murshid move for the petitioner while assistant attorney general Purabi Rani Saha and Purabi Rani Sharma stood for the state the during hearing.
