Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Sunday placed two including Uber moto rider on remand in a case filed over death of a female Uber passenger in the capital.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Baki Billah placed Uber rider Sumon Hossain on two-day remand and covered van driver Anisur Rahman on four days remand as police produced the duo before court.
BRAC University student Fahmida Haque Labanya, 21, was killed as she got thrown out of the Uber moto bike and crushed by the covered van on April 25 in capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
Police in the primary investigation found that both the biker and the covered van driver were driving indiscriminately on that day, resulting in the death of a bright young girl.
