Padma Bridge, Karnaphuli tunnel unnecessary: Fakhrul

Senior Correspondent: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir opined that the working class people’s money is extracted through tax and the government, with that money, construct Padma Bridge and Karnaphuli tunnel which are totally unnecessary.

Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this while inaugurating a rally organized by Sramik Dal on the occasion of May Day at Naya Paltan central office in the capital on Wednesday.

“The government is looting share market and banks and indulged in mega lootings in the name of mega projects. On the contrary, the general workers are suffering,” he said.

BNP secretary general also said, “All the working people of Bangladesh have lost their rights. This corrupted government has built pile of wealth taking all kinds of right of people.”

Sramik Dal president Anwar Hossain presided over the programme where BNP senior secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Sramik Dal general secretary Nurul Islam Nasim and others spoke on the occasion.
