Bangladesh to raise Rohingya, climate issues in Berlin

Secretariat Correspondent: State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam will raise Rohingya issues as well as adverse effects of climate change in the region including Bangladesh at the upcoming Climate and Security Conference in Berlin.
Shahriar Alam will lead Bangladesh delegation at the conference to be held on June 4, organized by the German Federal Foreign Office, in partnership with adelphi and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).
A foreign ministry source has confirmed the matter on Monday.
The conference will bring together leading figures from governments, international organisations, private sector, civil society and scientific community to discuss growing risks that climate change presents for peace and security as well as need for quick and decisive action to prevent and minimize climate-related conflict and instability.
Besides, the state minister will also represent Bangladesh at the 4th German-Asia Business dialogue on June 5 in Berlin.
The dialogue is expected to create further interactions among entrepreneurs, politicians and diplomats of German and Asian countries.
