2 ‘robbers’ killed in Tongi ‘gunfight’

Senior Correspondent: Two suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with RAB in Tongi bridge area on Wednesday midnight.

Uttara RAB-1 Captain Sarwar Bin Kashem said that a team of RAB-1 was patrolling in the Tongi Bridge area as part of regular duty. A group of robbers were trying to commit robbery under the Tongi Bridge. When the patrol team reached there, the robbers opened fire targeting the RAB men. For self-defence, RAB men also backed fire that triggered a gunfight, leaving two robbers dead on the spot.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Three RAB men were injured in the gunfight.
