2 killed as truck hit pickup in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Two people were killed and five others injured as a truck hit a pickup in the city early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Al Amain, 25, son of Kajol Mia in Natun Bazar area of Tongi, and Alam, 7.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Samir Sutradhar said the truck crashed into the Sreepur-bound pickup from behind in Salna area of Dhaka-Mymensingh highway round 3:00am, leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot and five others injured.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
