World Bank CEO arrives in Dhaka

Senior Correspondent: The World Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva has arrived in Dhaka on her maiden visit to Bangladesh.

Mehrin Ahmed Mahbub, Senior Communications Officer at World Bank Group said Kristalina Georgieva arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.  

During the visit, she will meet the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and senior government officials. She will also visit a project supported by the World Bank.

“The World Bank is proud to have a strong partnership with the Government of Bangladesh. We support the country’s remarkable efforts to accelerate its development,” a press released said.
