Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) said it should not be right for police to be overenthusiastic about Aysha Siddika Minni excluding the prime accused in the sensational Rifat murder case.
“Prime witness of the case Minni can be an accused if police in its investigation find her alleged involvement in the brutal murder. But it should not be right for police to be overenthusiastic about Minni excluding the prime accused in the case,” the court said.
The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader made the comment following a writ petition on Sunday.
Earlier on July 25, Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ petition with the High Court seeking its directives to launch an investigation by police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) or Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into the Rifat murder case.
Today, the court also rejected the petition considering that it was not placed before it properly.
