75 killed due to excessive flooding

Staff Correspondent: At least 75 people have been killed due to floods in 14 districts of the country.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at secretariat on Sunday.

Couple of rivers in Sylhet and Chattogram division overflowed from July 6 to July 7. The flood situation worsen due to heavy rainfall in the upstream on July 10. Gradually the rain flooded various areas of 28 districts.   

State Minister said, “We took several kinds of steps after getting the floods forecast. Besides, many kinds of initiatives were taken so that waterborne disease could not spread.”
