Two dengue patients die in Barishal

Staff Correspondent, Barishal:  Two people have died of mosquito-borne dengue at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Dr Bakir Hossain, director of the hospital, confirmed this to risingbd.com around 9.00am on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Aslam Khan, 24, son of Nasir Khan at Shyampur village of Bakerganj upazila, and Sohel, 18, son of Adam Ali at Gosontara village under Kawkhali upazila in Pirojpur district.

Aslam was admitted to the hospital around 9.30am on Monday with dengue, and he died there around 3:15am.  Infected with dengue, Sohel was also taken to the hospital around 1.30pm on Monday, and he died 3.40am on Tuesday, Dr Bakir said.

A total of 63 patients infected with dengue were admitted to the hospital, currently 24 patients are taking treatment at the hospital while 37 others were discharged after treatment, he said.
