Couple hacked dead in Gazipur

A couple was hacked to death by miscreants at their residence in Pubail Basugaon area under Gazipur City Corporation on Wednesday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 40, son of Tara Mia of the locality, and his wife Putul Begum, 28.  The couple had a two-year old boy.

Local ward councillor Bazlur Rahman Basir said Abul Kalam was unemployed but his wife was a garment worker.  She was his third wife. Local people found the bodies of the couple and informed police about it in the morning.

Nuruzzaman, sub-inspector of Pubail Police Station, said the motive behind the killing could not be known yet.
