‘Club law should be amended for accountability’

State minister for youth and sports Jahid Ahsan Rasel said there is no scope to monitor activities of clubs as these are limited companies. For this, law in this regard needs to be amended.

He said this after review meeting with different federations over celebration of the 100th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday noon.

The Minister said, “Most of the clubs are limited companies. So, the ministry of youths and sports has no jurisdiction to monitor the clubs. Legal right needs to bring the clubs under accountability.”
