Azhar to file review petition

Condemned war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam will file a petition seeking review of the Appellate Division verdict that has upheld his death sentence.

Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain said this to the journalists after the verdict announcement on Thursday.

Earlier, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) upheld death penalty of the Jamaat-e-Islami leader for crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.
