B’baria train mishap: Death toll rises to 18

Death toll in Brahmanbaria train accident has risen to 18 as two more injured victims died while undergoing treatment in hospitals.
The deceased were known as Dholai Mia, 65, hailed from Bublakhal area of Habiganj Sadar upazila and Tara Harijan, 45, hailed from Sudharam upazila of Noakhali.
In Sylhet, Dholai Mia died around 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon while undergoing treatment at MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Besides, on November 16, on Tara Harijan, 45, of Sudharam upazila in Noakhali, died undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
Shamol Kanti, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akhaura Railway police station said, the death toll has been risen to 18 in the train accident.
Earlier, a Dhaka-bound train Turna Nishita Express from Chattogram coming from the opposite direction rammed a Chattogram-bound train from Sylhet -- Udayan Express on Tuesday, leaving 16 killed and dozens injured.
