Jute mill worker dies on hunger strike in Khulna

A worker has died as thousands of workers and their family members of nine state-owned jute mills in Khulna are observing indefinite hunger strike for the third consecutive day.

The worker was known as Abdus Sattar, 45. 

Abdus Sattar, a permanent worker of Platinum Jubilee Jut Mill of Kulna, was taken to Khulna Medical College and Hospital after he fell sick during the hunger strike. There, he passed away in the evening.

Shahana Sharmin, president of Jute Mills Workers Union, confirmed the death of Abdus Sattar.

More than a hundred workers, who fell sick during the hunger strike, are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
