Grameenphone serves legal notice to President

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said Grameenphone has recently sent a legal notice to the Bangladesh president through a legal organization of Singapore.

The minister made the disclosure while addressing a view exchange meeting with Telecom Reporters’ Network of Bangladesh (TRNB) at hi secretariat office on Thursday.

Mustafa Jabbar said, “Grameenphone parent company Telenor sent a legal notice to the President demanding arbitration. I think it is unfortunate. An organization will do business in Bangladesh and then will create pressure to hold arbitration sending legal notice to the President. We are not in a situation to accept it.”

“We are responsive, we are interested to discuss, we are ready to take all kinds of initiatives to solve problems but, we cannot do anything which puts our national interest at stake,” he added.
