Three Muktijuddha Mancha leaders sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent three Muktijuddha Mancha leaders to jail in a case filed over the attack on Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order on Saturday noon.
The accused who were remanded are: Central Secretary General (GS) of Muktijuddha Mancha Al-Mamun, Office Secretary Mehedi Hassan Shanto and GS of its Dhaka University (DU) unit Yeasir Arafat Turjo.
Earlier, Shabag Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Arifur Rahman, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court as remand period ended.
Nur and some of his supporters were injured in the attack carried out by activists of a faction of Muktijuddho Moncho on December 22.
A case was filed against eight Muktijuddha Mancha leaders and activists and 35 other unknown people with Shahbag Police Station in this regard on Monday.
