Another oil refinery to be set up in Patuakhali

Another oil refinery is going to set up in the country to reduce dependency on oil import. The new one will be composite petroleum refinery.

Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) sources said, a decision was taken to recruit ‘Tecnicas’ of Spain as consultancy farm to check the possibilities of the refinery following its highest score. A total of Tk24.54 crore has been allotted for the task.

The new oil refinery will be established in Payra seaport area in Patuakhali. 1,000 acres of land will be acquired in the district. It will be second refinery after Eastern refinery in the country.
