BGB seizes goods worth Tk 83 crore

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods and drugs worth 83 crore 75 lakh and 82 thousand taka after conducting drives in December.

BGB public relations officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

The seized goods include 12,11,130 pieces of Yaba pills, 38,351 bottles of Phensedyl, 8,076 bottles of foreign liquor, 632 liters of local alcohol, 861 cans of beer and 79,661 pieces of Enegro/Senegro tablets.

Apart from this, the BGB personnel also seized 2kg 098 gram of gold, 5,651 imitation jewelries, 148,671 cosmetic materials, 4,763 saris, 2,049 pieces of three-piece/shirt piece, 1,540 pieces of readymade garments, 99 meters of cloth, 2 touchstone statues, 21,153 cubic feet of wood, 996kg of tea, 12 trucks, 2 pickup, 2 privet cars, 27 CNG auto-rickshaws and 42 motorcycles.

In addition, they also seized 2 pistols, 2 LG and 407 rounds of bullets. The BGB force also detained 133 people for smuggling and 10 Indians for border crossing.
