City polls will be very competitive: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said elections to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will be very competitive.

The CEC came up with the comment while replying to a question after he visited Dhaka Residential Model School and College to see distribution activities of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) there on Friday.

“For the first time, DNCC and DSCC elections will be held through using the EVMs. Election officials have been given proper training so that they can help voters cast their votes without facing any problem,” Huda said.

“There is no chance of vote rigging in the EVM system. That’s why the elections scheduled to be held tomorrow will be very competitive,” he added.
