“The whole world is going through economic recession right now. Export-import has reduced. It’s tough to do better in this situation. The economy of our country is also going through a tough time,” Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said.
The minister made the assertion while addressing annual conference of Bangladesh Development Bank Limited on Thursday.
He said, “All staff of a bank are now bad. Only one or two of them are bad. So, the inner problems should be solved by own selves before the punishment from highest level or Bangladesh Bank. When loan sector faces damage following the bad bankers then the whole bank suffer for that.”
Meanwhile, the finance minister suggested the bankers to make the upcoming challenges into power.
Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL) as Managing Director (MD) KAzi Alamgir presided over the programme where Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir, BDBL Chairman and former senior secretary Mohammad Mesbah Uddin and Director Kazi Tarikul Islam attended the function.
