PM directs to infuse dynamism into Teletalk activities

Prime Minister Sheikh has directed the high-ups of Teletalk Bangladesh, the state-owned mobile operator, to infuse dynamism into its activities.

She came up with the instructions at a meeting of the ECNEC held at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Tuesday.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved nine projects involving Taka 2,422.27 crore with a Taka 306.23 crore scheme to acquire necessary land and ancillary
facilities development for implementing the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline Project.

Briefing the reporters after the meeting, Planning Division Secretary Md Nurul Amin said a total of nine projects of 10 were approved involving an overall estimated cost of Taka 2,422.27 crore.

Referring to the project of Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd which was placed in the meeting to extend its network at the village level alongside modernization of 5G network, Nurul Amin said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the authorities concerned to conduct feasibility study for the project by a third party to ascertain where it’s towers would be installed, before placing it again at ECNEC.
