17 Chinese sailors return home today

17 Chinese sailors, who remained stuck for one week in a ship docked at Sitakunda coast for scrapping, will return home today (Wednesday) with the help of foreign ministry.

The cargo ship had sailed from China’s Weifang Port for Chattogram on January 20 before Bangladesh stopped on arrival visa.

The ship was brought to the shipyard for scrapping. But, no-one of the sailors was allowed to leave the ship due to Coronavirus outbreak concern.

The owner of the agency that imported the ship claimed the 17 Chinese sailors are not infected with coronavirus.

The Chinese sailors are being sent back directly to China today with the help of foreign ministry.
