Husband held for killing wife

Police has arrested a man named Ferdous Alam for killing his wife in capital’s Kalabagan area.

The woman Sajeda Akhter was hacked dead at a house at North Circular Road of Hatirpool on Wednesday night.

According to locals, Ferdous Alam was a rickshaw puller and used to reside with his wife and two children at a rented tin-shed house. 

Ferdous Alam locked into an altercation with his wife around 8.30pm and one stage hacked his wife into death with a sharp weapon.

Officer-in-Charge of Kalabagan Thana Paritosh Chandra said after detaining Ferdous, locals informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
