Woman dies in fire engulfed while taking therapy

A woman was burnt to death as a fire broke out at a multi-storey building on Bashbari Mandir road in the city’s Mohammadpur area on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Moriyam Begum, 55.

According to fire service control room, the fire originated from an electric short circuit on the 3rd floor of the building while the woman was taking therapy around 9:00am.

The fire suddenly caught the bed and spread, leaving her burnt the to death. Moriyam had been suffering from paralysis for long days.
