Now Ishraque files case for cancellation of DSCC polls

After Tabith Awal, BNP nominated mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain filed a case with an election tribunal in Dhaka, demanding cancellation of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) election held on February 1.

He also demanded re-election to the DSCC.

Ishraque filed the case bringing an allegation of irregularities and corruption that took place during the DNCC polls.

Judge Utpal Bhattacharya of the election tribunal in Dhaka accepted the case on Tuesday.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, returning officer Md Abul Kashem, winner candidate Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and five others have been made defendants to contest the suit.

Yesterday, BNP nominated mayoral candidate Tabith Awal filed the same case with the election tribunal, demanding cancellation of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election held on February 1.
