All Pahela Baisakh programmes suspended

All local administrations have been directed to suspend all Pahela Baisakh, Bengali New Year, programmes.

The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked all to suspend celebrations marking Pahela Baishakh, on April 14 while holding a video conference with top government officials posted in 64 districts from Ganabhaban

In an attempt to contain the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina advised all concerned to celebrate Pahela Baishakh this year, making no public gathering.
