5000 nurses join work

Newly-appointed 5,054 nurses have joined work to tackle the coronavirus crisis.

Health Minister's Public Relations Officer (PRO) Maidul Islam Pradhan said this on Wednesday (May 13).

He said 5,054 nurses were instructed to join work by May 1, and they have joined their respective workplaces as per instructions.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque will attend an orientation programme organised for newly-appointed nurses at the auditorium of the Directorate General Of Nursing & Midwifery (DGNM) at Agargaon in the capital today (Thursday).

Earlier, Bangladesh Public Service Commission recommended to recruit 2,000 doctors and 5,000 nurses to tackle the coronavirus crisis.
