Man held for killing wife in Faridganj

Police has arrested an expatriate for killing his wife at Faridganj in Chandpur.

The incident took place in Gridkalindia area on Wednesday evening.

The deceased’s mother and younger brother were also injured in the incident, who are now undergoing treatment.

The deceased is Tanjina Akhter Ritu, 20, daughter of Selim Khan at Gridkalindia village of the upazila.

The arrestee is Mamun Mohan, 22, son of Montaj Master at Shaestanagar village under Roipur upazila.

According to sources, Mohan came to the house of father-in-law on Wednesday afternoon and locked into an altercation with his wife. In one stage, he stabbed his wife indiscriminately, leaving her seriously injured.
She was taken to Faridganj Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.

Mohan tried to flee from the spot but locals caught him and handed over to police.
