15 more deaths, 2029 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

15 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 559 in the country.

Besides, 2029 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 40,321.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Thursday (May 28).

According to DGHS, a total of 8,425 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 9,310 samples collected from across the country and 2029 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 40,321” she said.
