11-point proposal placed for public transport operations

Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has placed 11-point proposal to strictly abide by the health guidelines set by the government to contain the transmission of coronavirus or COVID-19.
Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, placed the proposals while speaking at a meeting with vehicle owners, labourers organisations at the office of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority on Friday (May 29).
Proposals placed by the minister are discussed in brief:
Buses will have to keep 25-30 percent seats vacant and cannot carry standing passengers while plying roads from Sunday (May 31).
Passengers will have to get on bus by three lines and must keep 3 feet distance from each other.
Each and every bus will have to clean with disinfectant before plying on roads while passengers, drivers and helpers must wear face masks.
Drivers and helpers will not be permitted to be on duty constantly.
Vehicles are being permitted to ply on roads considering the livelihoods of lakhs of transports workers.
Drivers and helpers will be provided counseling at every terminal.
The bus fare will be fixed following a meeting to be held tomorrow (Saturday).
Public transports – buses, trains and vessels – will have to maintain health guidelines set by the government to contain the spread of coronavirus.
