40 deaths, 2545 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

A record 40 people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 650 in the country.

Besides, 2,545 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 47,153.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Sunday (May 31).

“We've carried out tests on 11,876 samples collected from across the country in last 24 hours and 2,545 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 47,153,” she said.

Sample tests of a total of 308,930 people have been carried out so far, Nasima Sultana added.
