Operation of domestic flights in Bangladesh has resumed in a limited scale from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after two months and seven days of break amid coronavirus pandemic.
The flights operation started from Monday morning following the heath guidelines.
According to airport sources, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has taken a plan to operate at least 24 domestic flights today but three or four flights can be cancelled due to lack of passengers.
Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport AHM Touhid Ul Ahsan said five domestic flights left Dhaka for Chattogram and Syedpur routes in the morning.
CAAB has already taken several steps at the airports to check virus transmission. Passengers have been urged to travel after maintaining social distance. The airport authority has set thermal scanner to measure body temperature of every passenger.
They are also providing hand sanitizer, hand gloves and masks to the passengers.
The flight operators have also been asked to follow the health guidelines.
