Nasim’s operation successful, PM enquires about health

The operation of Awami League presidium member and former Health Minister Mohammed Nasim, who suffered a stroke on Friday morning while undergoing treatment for COVID-19, has become successful.

Nasim’s son Tanvir Shakil Joy on Friday noon said “My father’s operation has become successful and he (Nasim) is now at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital”.

He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina talked with doctors and him over phone to enquire about his health.

Earlier, the health condition of coronavirus infected AL leader deteriorated as he suffered a stroke on Friday morning.

Nasim was admitted to Bangladesh Specialised Hospital with fever and breathing problem on last Monday.

The hospital authorities collected sample of Nasim for COVID-19 test for the second time and it found positive on Monday.
