Areas marked as ‘red zone’ in Dhaka and Chattogram

A total of 45 areas of Dhaka city and 11 of port city Chattogram have been marked as ‘red zone’ with higher number of coronavirus infected people.
Besides, different areas of three districts have also been spotted as red zone.
Of the 45 areas of Dhaka city, 17 are under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) while 28 under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Apart from Dhaka, different upazilas of Narayanganj, Gazipur and Narsingdi have been marked as red zone.
The technical committee formed for controlling coronavirus in a meeting held on Saturday made recommendation to mark the areas as red zone.
Red Zone areas under DNCC: Bashundhara, Badda, Cantonment, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Rampura, Aftabnagar, Mohammadpur, Kallyanpur, Gulshan, Mogbazar, Airport, Banashree, Rayerbazar, Rajabazar, Uttara and Mirpur.
Red Zone areas under DSCC: Jatrabari, Demra, Mugda, Gendaria, Dhanmondi, Jigatola, Lalbag, Azimpur, Basabo, Shantinagar, Paltan, Kolabagan, Ramna, Sutrapur, Malibag, Kotwali, Tikatuli, Mitford, Shahjahanpur, Motijheel, wari, Khilgaon, Poribag, Kodomtoli, Siddeswari, Laxmibazar, Elephant Road and Segunbagicha.
Red Zone areas in Chattogram: ward no 37 and 38, 39 ward no 39 of Patenga, ward no 10 of Pahartoli, ward no 16, 20, 21 and 22 of Kotwali, ward no 14 of Khulshi and ward no 26 of Halishahar.
Apart from these, all upazilas of Gazipur and Araihazar, Rupganj, Sadar upazila and the entire city corporation area have been marked as red zone.
