Sahara Khatun to be taken to BSMMU

Awami League presidium member Sahara Khatun, who is currently undergoing treatment at the capital’s United Hospital, will be taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU)
The former home minister will be shifted to BSMMU on Saturday morning.
Mujibor Rahman, personal secretary to Sahara Khatun confirmed the news.
He said, ‘All preparations have been taken in this regard.’
Sahara Khatun was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from High Dependency Unit (HDU) around 11:00am on Friday as her physical condition deteriorated. Her heartbeat nearly stopped and was brought back by punching. Now she has been kept on ventilation.
Family members of Sahara Khatun requested countrymen for her recovery.
The 77-year-old Awami League stalwart has been suffering from fever, allergy and different old-age complications.
She was admitted to the United Hospital with respiratory problem early June 3. Still, she is undergoing treatment there.
She is currently taking treatment under the supervision of the hospital’s medical consultant Afsana Ara.
Sahara Khatun was born in Kurmitola, Dhaka on March 1 in 1943. His father’s name is Abdul Aziz while mother is Turzan Nesa. Sahara Khatun has been elected as Member of Parliament (MP) from Dhaka-18 constituency for three terms. She served as the home minister and later the post and telecommunication minister in the 2008 Sheikh Hasina-led cabinet.
