The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has sent a letter to the ministry concerned to implement red zone at Wari in the capital experimentally.
Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said this in regular online briefing on Saturday.
She said, ‘A letter has already been sent to the concerned ministry regarding experimental implementation of red zone in specific places of Wari in the capital.’
Nasima Sultana said, ‘A 13-member advisory committee has formed over zone. DG of DGHS is chairperson of the committee.’
Identifying red zones, yellow zones or green zones based on levels of risk is a continuous process, she adding that the committee under the leadership of DGHS is working behind the zoning programme. The zone is determined by the highest, moderate and low risk of infection.
Citing that zoning system is not permanent, she said no area has been declared as red zone permanently. It is being implemented temporarily in some areas across the country.
Red zone is being implemented in East Rajabazar of the capital based on the guidelines of the advisory committee.
