A writ petition has been filed in the High Court (HC) seeking directives to expedite the delivery process of coronavirus test reports.
Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Moniruzzaman Lincoln filed the writ petition in the virtual HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan on Sunday.
The secretary of the health ministry and the director general of the health department have been made respondents in the petition.
Advocate Moniruzzaman Lincoln said, ‘Due to delay of corona test report, a person with coronavirus-like symptoms does not know whether he/she is infected or not. So, if the sample is collected immediately and delivered the report within short time just after ending test activities, the infected person will not put many more people at risk.’
He further said, ‘The infected person himself will be careful if the report is positive. So, the writ petition was filed seeking directives for delivery reports within short time.’
