‘ACC to probe into corruption against Regent hospital chairman’

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary Muhammad Delwar Bakht said they will soon launch an investigation into the allegations of corruption and irregularities against the owner of Regent Group and Regent hospital Md Shahed alias Shahed Karim.

He said this while replying to a question of journalists at the ACC head office in the capital on Thursday (July).

The ACC secretary said, “A decision can be taken soon to investigate the allegations of corruption and irregularities against the owner of Regent Group and Regent hospital Md Shahed. We are now scrutinizing the allegations brought against him.”

Earlier on the night of July 7, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed a case with Uttara West Police Station on charges of issuing fake Covid-19 test results and charging patients for the test. At least 17 individuals including the hospital owner were made accused in the case.
