DNCC finds Aedes larvae in 113 houses

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Saturday (July 11), the seventh day of its combing operation, found Aedes larvae in 113 establishments in the capital and fined Tk 213,800.

A total of 13,491 houses, establishments and buildings under construction were inspected and Aedes mosquito larvae were found in 113 of them.

DNCC public relations officer ASM Mamun said, 7,830 houses and establishments had a suitable environment for Aedes mosquito breeding.

Meanwhile, 14 cases were filed as the inspection teams found Aedes mosquito larvae and pupae in the buildings.

DNCC and the Disease Control Branch of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) have been conducting the combined monitoring programme to eliminate mosquitoes in the DNCC area since July 4.

DNCC official ASM Mamun said, the drive will continue on Sunday (July 12) too.
