Brother-in-law of Regent MD Masud among 2 remanded

A Dhaka court placed brother-in-law (husband of sister-in-law) of Masud Parvez, Managing Director (MD) of Regent Group among two on a two-day remand each in a drug case.

Dhaka’s senior judicial magistrate Monica Khan passed the order after hearing on Friday (July 17).

The persons who were placed on remand are: Gias Uddin Jalali, 61, brogther-in-law of Masud Parvez, and his driver Mahmudul Hassan, 40.

Earlier, cops of Ashulia police station produced them before the court and sought for a five-day remand for each.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested them conducting a drive at Narsinghpur area of Ashulia on Thursday afternoon. Law enforcers seized Yaba tablets, phensedyl and a private car from their possessions. Law enforcers also sized 48 pages of cheque-book with signature and seal of Regent Group Chairman Sahed.

RAB filed a case in this connection with Ashulia Police Station under narcotics control act.
