China assures to continue cooperation in fighting coronavirus

China has assured to continue cooperation to Bangladesh in fighting coronavirus.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming said this in a virtual meeting with Economic Relations Division (ERD) Secretary Fatima Yasmin on Monday.

On Tuesday, chinse embassy in Dhaka said, ‘Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming and ERD secretary Fatima discussed to increase cooperation between the two countries to fight against coronavirus.’

The Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude for the sympathy and support shown by Bangladesh’s people towards China when coronavirus hit the country early this year. He lauded the extraordinary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the efforts and financial incentives of the government to control coronavirus pandemic.

He said, ‘The epidemic can be prevented through sustained bilateral efforts.’

Fatima Yasmin also expressed gratitude to China for providing medical equipment and sending a team of expert doctors to help Bangladesh during its most urgent situation.

She presented the steps taken by Bangladesh government to save lives and restore the economy and hoped for more support and assistance from China now and in future.
