Regent Hospital MD placed on 10-day remand

A Dhaka court placed the Managing Director (MD) of Regent Hospital Mizanur Rahman on a ten-day remand in a case filed for allegedly issuing fake certificates on coronavirus or Covid-19.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Moinul Islam passed the order after Sub-Inspector (SI) of Uttara West Police Station Yadur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Mizanur before the court with ten-day remand prayer on Saturday (July 25).
On Friday (July 24) afternoon, Regent Hospital MD Mizanur Rahman was arrested from Gopalganj over the allegation of providing fake Covid-19 reports to Metrorail project workers.
A labour outsourcing company of the Metrorail project filed a case with Uttara West Police Station against the Regent Hospital authorities on Monday (July 20).
The allegation brought in the case filed said 76 Metrorail project labourers were given fake Covid-19 test reports from Regent Hospital.
