Bus fares return to normal

Bus fares and services have returned to normal from today (September 1).

Most of the buses in the capital were seen following the previous fares and government's health guidelines.

During visit, the same scenarios were seen in capital’s Mirpur-1, Mirpur-2, Mirpur-10, Shyamoli, Farmgate and Agargaon areas.

According to the government instructions, stakeholders have to follow some conditions. None will be allowed to carry passengers beyond the seat capacity. As many seats, as many passenger policy will be implemented. No standing passengers will be allowed.

All passengers, drivers, bus staff have to wear masks, and hand sanitiser and other hand washing materials have to be made available. Buses have to be disinfected before and after each trip.

Khandaker Enayet Ullah, secretary general of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners' Association, said they have asked the bus owners, drivers and conductors to follow the health guideline.
